Q1: Do you provide communal single-sex changing and showering facilities?
All of our aquatic facilities (Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Ōtaki Pool and Waikanae (Summer) Pool) offer single sex changing and showering facilities. We do not have any fitness centres.
Q2: Do you provide single occupancy changing and showering facilities? If so, how many at each site?
Yes, they are labelled Family or Accessible changing facilities. The numbers per site are as follows. Ōtaki Pool x 2, Waikanae Pool x 1, Coastlands Aquatic Centre x 4.
Q3: Please provide any policies or procedures that apply to trans-identified people who wish to use the changing and showering facilities in your sites.
We do not have specific polices or procedures in relation to trans-identified people using our facility. This part of your request is therefore refused under section 17(e) of the Act as the documents alleged to contain the information requested do not exist.
Q4: How are your different changing and showering facilities labelled and described?
Changing and showering facilities are labelled as Male, Female, Family, Accessible. We also provide ‘Dry’ changing cubicles poolside labelled ‘Changing’.
Q5: At your sites, which changing room and showering facilities is a trans-identified male permitted to use?
We provide a range of public and private changing and showering spaces and do not ask patrons to disclose their gender on entry. This question has not been asked by our patrons, accordingly we have no specific policies or procedures.
Q6: If applicable, do your facilities allow trans-identifying males to attend Women Only swim sessions?
