Otorohanga District Council

Confused
Q1: Do you provide communal single-sex changing and showering facilities?
Yes. Please note that the Otorohanga Memorial Pool Complex is owned by Council, however the management is contracted to a third party service provider. This is the only swimming pool / fitness centre facility that is owned by ODC.
Q2: Do you provide single occupancy changing and showering facilities? If so, how many at each site?
Yes, 1
Q3: Please provide any policies or procedures that apply to trans-identified people who wish to use the changing and showering facilities in your sites.
None currently in place.
Q4: How are your different changing and showering facilities labelled and described?
Unisex
Q5: At your sites, which changing room and showering facilities is a trans-identified male permitted to use?
Male bathroom and unisex
Q6: If applicable, do your facilities allow trans-identifying males to attend Women Only swim sessions?
No women only swim sessions offered
Our Verdict
Hard to know. No policies, so open to anything? Their answers are incomplete and don't make sense.
On further exploration, their facility is operated by CLM - other facilities operated by this organisation use policies that prioritise gender identity over sex. We suspect that the answer that Council gave to Q5 is not what is happening in reality. If you use this pool, ask them and report back to us!
