Q1: Do you provide communal single-sex changing and showering facilities?
There are communal same-sex changing rooms and toilets available at Rotorua Aquatic Centre. These do not include communal showers.
Q2: Do you provide single occupancy changing and showering facilities? If so, how many at each site?
4 x Changing room cubicles. These do not have toilets or showers in them and are gender neutral. See attachment 1.
2 x Toilets. These are gender neutral can also be used by people with disabilities. See attachment 2.
3 x Disability changerooms. These are complete with shower and toilet and are gender neutral. See attachment 3.
3 x Family changerooms. These are complete with shower and toilet and are gender neutral. See attachment 4.
1 x Universal changeroom. This is complete with shower, toilet and hoist, and is gender neutral. See attachment 5.
Q3: Please provide any policies or procedures that apply to trans-identified people who wish to use the changing and showering facilities in your sites.

Please see above responses regarding Gender Neutral facilities at Rotorua Aquatic Centre. When asked to clarify - "Can you please be more specific with your answer to question five.
Can a trans-identifying male (sometimes called a transwomen) use the female facility or just the male / gender neutral?" The answer was "They would have access to all 3 facilities"
Q6: If applicable, do your facilities allow trans-identifying males to attend Women Only swim sessions?
Council currently does not run any Women Only swim sessions at Rotorua Aquatic Centre.
