Yes, we provide communal single-sex changing and showering facilities at Selwyn Aquatic Centre, Selwyn Sports Centre, Southbridge Pool and Darfield Pool.

Yes, in the form of “family” and “accessible” changing rooms.

We do not have a site‑specific policy that restricts access by trans or non‑binary people. Our practice is to treat people with dignity and respect and enable them to use facilities that best meet their needs, while balancing privacy and safety for everyone. We apply relevant New Zealand human rights laws and guidance in our operations.

Communal changing: Women / Men with symbols.
Single‑occupancy: Family / Accessible changing rooms (with signage/symbols indicating features such as shower, baby‑change, hoist, etc.)

Q5: At your sites, which changing room and showering facilities is a trans-identified male permitted to use?

Our practice is that people may use the facilities that align with their needs and identity, or any single‑occupancy or family/accessible room if they prefer more privacy. Staff are trained to support anyone who requests a more private option

Q6: If applicable, do your facilities allow trans-identifying males to attend Women Only swim sessions?

We run Women and Girls Pool Sessions at Selwyn Aquatic Centre. Entry is restricted to women and girls (and boys up to age 5 with their mother/caregiver). We align to the Ministry for Women policy and our sessions include Transgender women, and people who identify as being a woman, are welcome.
